I was so excited when asked to style this colorful bridal shower! The bride had chosen "watermelon", green and black for her wedding colors - so for her bridal shower we created a fun watermelon theme, complete with a colorful dessert table, watermelon mojitos and adorable watermelon cookie pops!
The shower was supposed to happen outside, but here in the rainy Pacific Northwest summer has yet to make an appearance - so these cheery summer colors were just the thing to brighten it up!
To create a seamless color background for the dessert table, I took the green table cloth into my local Home Depot and had them color match paint for the canvas backdrop. Three shades of pink cardstock were used to create pretty paper fans.
I made these Watermelon Slice Cookie Pops as favors to guests, and added tags from my Itsy Belle's Printable "Sweet Watermelon" collection reading "Love is Sweet". This was only my second attempt at Cookie Pops and these turned out so much better than my first attempt! This tutorial from Sweeta Polita made all the difference!
I loved the way the tags turned out! I decided to go with a solid color and white text and love the way the white pops on the pink!
Watermelon, pink and green iced cupcakes completed with toppers with the bride & grooms initials and "love" were the centerpiece of the dessert table. I modified the party circles from our Pink Lemonade Collection and adore the way they turned out!
Other sweets included assorted candies, cheesecake filled strawberries and cake pops.
Pink Lemonade and Watermelon Mojitos were served in Mason Jars complete with straws with flags reading "She said yes!"
Waterbottles with matching custom labels were offered.
Friends and family were asked to share their happy marraige tips on "Advice for the Bride" cards.
Guests were sent home with these sweet candy filled favors as thank yous for celebrating the day with the bride-to-be.
Hope you enjoyed the photos of this beautiful event as much as I enjoyed styling it!
Beautiful shower - I love the watermelon idea - and what a creative way to use a backdrop!
