I am just a dreamer who loves to make things pretty!
I had been a graphic designer in the printing industry and a freelance wedding cake decorator when I became pregnant with our second child. Complications during my pregnancy ended up with me banished to complete bed rest for 8 weeks. Armed with a laptop I soon stumbled upon Etsy. When our little Annabelle made her debut 5 weeks early she was diagnosed with multiple brain malformations and the outlook from doctors was bleak. We decided the best place for me to be was home with the kids. We needed a way to make up some of my lost income, and so I decided to put my design skills to use and opened an Etsy shop. Soon after I created this blog and jumped right into the party styling world. I love combining my skills in design, cake decorating and decorating to create beautiful events.
Three years later and my little daughter is doing better than any of the doctors ever expected! She is a beautiful, smart (and a bit sassy) toddler. Her and her sweet big brother Jackson keep me on my toes! While we take her to physical and occupational therapy each week, we know there will be nothing stopping her! The kids both do quite well at putting up with mommy's party obsession, and enjoy all the sweets that come along with the deal.
I feel so blessed for everything I have. Sometimes when life blind sides you, it can end up being the best thing that ever happened. I've learned so much about what is important and am able to stay home to take care of my family and also do something I love! My dream is to use my talent to enrich other peoples life and pass on the blessings.
When I'm not creating or dreaming about parties you can find me with my nose in a book, keeping up with the kids, dragging my husband head first into home improvement projects, shopping for good deals, enjoying our brunch & church family days and fighting my incurable wanderlust all while enjoying way too much coffee in the process.
