My sons favorite new television show this year was 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates', so of course for his birthday I had to design him his very own Pirate Party!
Pirate Chest tin (purchased at Good Will), Hershey's Gold candy, chocolate gold coins, and some scrap booking gem embellishments create the centerpiece pirate treasure!
Skull and crossbones and Pirate cookies were fun to decorate and a big hit with the kids.
Find the pirate cookie tutorial here.
I illustrated the pirate to have a cartoon feel like 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates', but to look like the birthday boy! After all, it's all about Captain Jack!
Marshmallows dipped in red candy melts and decorated with a black sugar pen become "Pirate Pops"
Keebler Fudge Sticks as "Candy Planks", Licorice as "Pirate Rope" and Whoppers candy as "Cannon balls" for pirate treats!
Halloween decorations and foam pirate eye patch favors purchased at Target added to the festivity.
Little pirates were decked out with black face paint mustaches and beards
Pirate games included "Pin the Eye patch on the Pirate" and a game of blindfolded "Walk the Plank"
I created skull and crossbones pinata using lightweight cardboard (cereal boxes) I cut to shape, and taped together covering with paper mache. The skull and crossbones I simply traced onto white paper, cut and hot glued on. Here is a pinata tutorial I used to help me!
The party was right after Halloween so I was able to snag the costumes for 75% OFF!
Pirate Brownie Boats created with wooden skewers trimmed down and
Itsy Belle's Printable Pirate Party Circles cut into squares instead of cut with a circle punch.

This party's budget was kept reasonable with the use of Halloween decorations we already had, Halloween clearance items, and the printable decorations printed on our home desktop printer! I found a lot of the inspiration for games and treats from Pinterest. Overall everyone enjoyed themselves and Jackson loved it! Hope you enjoy planning your own pirate party!
